Batam is the largest city in the province of Riau Islands, Indonesia. It is an industrial boomtown, and emerging transport hub, and part of a free trade zone in the Indonesia–Malaysia–Singapore Growth Triangle, located 20 km (12 mi) off Singapore’s south coast. Batam is the third-busiest entry port to Indonesia next to Bali and Jakarta and a popular and famous destination for tourists not only from Singapore and Malaysia; but also, from other countries such as: Europe, Asia, United States etc.
Five ferry terminals are on the island, i.e for those travelling by sea, using ferries is the most convenient means of transport. The journey takes about 90 minutes from Johor Bahru in Malaysia while 40 minutes from Singapore.
In the end of 2023, in response to the increasing number of tourists arriving in Batam Islands each year, local authorities have partnered with our esteemed collaborator, PT Nutech Integrasi based in Jakarta. Together, we have spearheaded the commissioning, testing, and installation of five lanes of our cutting-edge mBorder immigration gates. Positioned at the entrance of the Departure Hall of Batam International Ferry Terminal, these bespoke gates are meticulously crafted to meet the demands of modern border control.
Characterized by a customized design and equipped with state-of-the-art, bi-directional, and energy-efficient drive technology, our gates redefine the standards of border security. Boasting top-tier passport readers, facial recognition cameras, and specialized software for biometric detection, they ensure swift and reliable border control checks in high-security zones where stringent identification protocols are paramount.
As Batam continues to flourish as a premier travel destination, the installation of our ABC gates stands as a testament to our unwavering commitment to excellence and innovation in border control technology.
